Swimming Pool
Swimming is one of the most effective ways to exercise or if you
just want to unwind and have some fun. Our pools offer a
balanced mix of everything from casual public swimming to
competitive swimming for our clubs, swimming lessons and
aquafit. For those who want to have fun come and try out our
inflatable sessions.
All our poolside staff are fully qualified lifeguards, providing
a safe and secure environment for all our customers.

Swimming Lessons
The swim programme is designed for all ages. Our highly
trained instructors offer lessons for toddlers through to adults
and beginners through to competitive swimmers.

Swimming Parties
A pool party ia a great way for your child to celebrate their
birthday with all their friends. We offer several options for
swimming parties at Ashington Leisure Centre.
For the stronger swimmer you can hire
exclusive use of the main pool with the BIG inflatable.
For the younger and less confident swimmer you
can hire the learner pool with the smaller inflatables and
rafts.
Main pool parties are available on Sundays
3.30 – 4.30 and 4.45 – 5.45.
Learner pool parties are available on Saturdays 4.00 – 5.00,
Sundays 3.30 – 4.30 and 4.45 – 5.45.

Lifestyle Gym
The Lifestyle Gym is equipped with the latest in
Technogym equipment, the Excite Range with Wellness System, a
revolutionised workout which offers a totally innovative
experience.
The Wellness System is a state of the art
system, which allows members to track their workout progress.
It is simple to use and has great benefits. Members are
issued with a special key, which stores all personal information
and records all activity undertaken.
From your first visit you will be welcomed and
taken through a personalised induction assessment with our friendly
staff. Your induction will give you a complete understanding of the
state of the art Technogym equipment and will show you how to get
the most from your exercise sessions.
You also have the option of an in-depth
fitness assessment that will enable us to tailor you a more
efficient training programme.
Lifestyle Fitness Classes
We provide a wide and varied range of fitness
classes that cater for all tastes and levels of fitness.
You can simply come along and pay before your
class, but we recommend that you book in advance at reception
Lifestyle Memberships
If you use the swimming pool, the gym or the fitness classes
regularly, you could save money by joining as a Lifestyle Member.

Timetable
Sports Activities
Both Ashington and Newbiggin centres
boast main halls that house both 5 a side courts and badminton
courts. These can also be hired for basketball, netball, tennis and
other racket sports.
As well as the sports halls, the 2 centres are
comprised of 5 squash courts (3 at Ashington, 2 at Newbiggin), both
indoor and outdoor bowling greens, a small gym area, spinning
studio, sauna and steam room and a boxing ring and training
room.
Room Hire and Functions
Within our centres we have rooms available to
hire privately for specific events, such as conferences, weddings,
parties, exhibitions and dance/music shows. Ashington Leisure
Centre is also registered for civil wedding ceremonies.
Our Bars and Catering Manager will be able to help you with all
your function requirements, but please take a look at the following

Centre members are now able to book online for
selected activities.
Membership cards are available from Ashington Leisure Centre and
Newbiggin Sports & Community Centre – get yours today!!
Members wishing to book online must have an ID
number and PIN number, which can be obtained from reception.
Bookings can be made a maximum of 14 days
in advance and all online bookings MUST be paid for at the time of
booking.
