About the Centre
Blyth Sports Centre first opened in 1967 as a 'swimming baths'
and has expanded and developed over the years into a superb
multi-use centre. Recently, the centre has had a £2 million
extensive refurbishment which has resulted in a greatly
improved facility providing better access and increased
flexibility.
The swimming pool now has improved changing room access, a
changing village and school change area. Additions to the pool area
include a fabulous spa with sauna and steam rooms. There is also a
boom and moveable floor in the pool to allow for greater programme
flexibility.
The gym has been extended and refurbished to include state of
the art equipment, personal viewing screens and computerised user
programmes.
The front of the building has also been extended to provide a
new entrance and reception area that will dramatically increase
accessibility into the centre.
